Please note that students will be issued with individual exam timetables including information regarding the room and seat number prior to the exam. Revision session information will be given by subject leaders.
If the awarding bodies have not finalised summer exam timetables, we advise that exams normally run from the start of May until the end of June – you should not book any travel in this time.
Exam Contingency Day 2024
There are contingency sessions within the Summer 2024 exam timetable – the afternoon of 6 June and 13 June 2024 and the morning and afternoon of 26 June 2024.
The designation of a ‘contingency day’ within the common examination timetable is in the event of national or significant local disruption to examinations in the United Kingdom. It is part of the awarding bodies’ standard contingency planning for examinations.
This is a JCQ decision and applies to all students taking GCSE and A levels (or equivalent) in Summer 2024 in all schools and colleges.
We remind candidates that they must remain available until Wednesday 26 June 2024 regardless of when their last exam takes place, should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan.
