I came to the UTC in Year 9 after receiving a letter in the post telling me about the engineering offer. I was not happy in my current school, but I was still nervous about moving to a new school. I attended a taster day, where we built and launched rockets. I won. The crazy thing is that this was 5 years ago now, and I still remember it well. My favourite memories are the projects in mechanical engineering. I love the feeling when the tolerances are right, that I used the machines safely, and created work I was proud of.

I would tell all new students, whether starting in Year 9 or Year 12 that the finish line is so important. The finish line will be a great career with a good wage. You will meet so many different employers, and take part in competitions and challenges. Keep working hard and you will get there.

I am going to Nottingham Trent University to study Bio-Medical Engineering having collected my Level 3 results. Thank you to the whole UTC team for supporting me through the last 5 years.
