I joined the UTC in Year 9 as wanted to study Health and Social Care. I am still unsure what I want to do as a career, but am not worried as I can change my mind any time. As long as I study hard in maths, English, sciences and my specialisms, I will do well. I was worried about joining as I had a friendship group at my old school that I was leaving. But instead my friendship group has grown so much. I still have my old friends, and so many new ones. I used to hate presenting and would rather crawl under a desk than stand up and speak in front of a class. Now I have delivered a Young Enterprise Company Project speech to over 300 hundred people at regional and national finals. At the UTC you meet so many businesses, and get to join clubs, competitions, and it is all things that you can add to your CV. I have taken part in 2 weeks of work experience and feel confident going into Year 11, my final GCSE year. My confidence has grown so much!

If you are applying to the UTC, you should know that the teachers and support staff are there to help you be successful, whether into a career, or helping with your wellbeing. There is so much I have got out of my time here so far.
